house of bricks reflection

 hello this is my reflection of the house of bricks that came to my school

My favourite Lego activity was the mosaics because it brought out my art skills.

My least favourite Lego activity was the one where you build something and you have to

pass it around because it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to.

The activity that tested my perseverance the most was making cars because it was really

hard to use Technic bricks.

The most challenging activity was the one where you build something and you have to

pass it around because everyone was being silly with my build.

I did not enjoy working collaboratively with others because they were annoying and silly.

Playing With Birds

Today I went to Willowbank Wildlife Reserve and looked at all the animals but there were 2 moments that I REALLY want to tell you guys.

1st. I went to the Kea enclosure and had fun playing with the wonderful but cheeky birds. they were absolutely amazing but this is even better... they jumped and landed on me. But there was one bird that was naughty and one that was nice. The naughty one was very naughty because it was biting my mums fingers. The good one though was the opposite it didn't bite but it chewed on my bag and left a small hole.

2nd. I was entering the big bird territory. I was going to feed an EMU!!! I was scared at first but I bravely put food in my hand and gave it to the giant and it was  approaching me making a sound from its tummy or throat just like a drum then next second it started eating off my hand. Then got a wee bit carried away and started to try and eat my hand.

These were both time that i will never forget. So next time you go to willow bank get some bird food and feed the Emu and try and entertain the cheeky Kea.

Spring Rolls

Hello it`s Vincent here with some delicious news! We have made spring rolls!

This is the process -

1. I cracked 8 boiled eggs and peeled off the shell.
2. After that I smashed up all of the eggs with a fork.
3. Mixed with mayonnaise and salt.
4. Then I got some spring roll pastry and wrapped up some egg in the pastry and made four spring rolls.
5. While I did that mum was making 16 mince and vege spring rolls.
6. Now mum had the job to deep-fry all of them.

Then we ate too much and got tummy aches because they were amazingly good.

Gardening

Hello, my name is Vincent. Today my dad came over to help us to plant some plants.

In the back we planted some vege seeds like carrots, sweet corn and tomato. In the front we planted some bulbs like freesia, earlicheer, muscari and jonquil.

We got some bamboo out from the back yard and chopped some bamboo off to make stands for the signs.

I felt exhausted so I stopped in the middle of the process and let mum & dad do the rest.

The Feathery Visitors

Hello everybody, are you having a good first day in lockdown level 4?

Today I will tell you about something that happened just before 11 a.m. 

Today in lock down my front garden had some feathery visitors ... DUCKS! They were probably husband and wife. When we saw them my mum told me to watch them and see if they leave because she was going to get some bread. When she came back she gave me a slice of bread. I ripped it into small bits and threw them near the ducks. After they were full they went to go get some water from a puddle from last nights rain.

hello this is my document all about when my hub went to Margaret mahy

20th May 2021 Trip

On may 20th tumu hub went to margaret mahy playground and victoria square .The waka was fun because

we got taught how to paddle and hold the oar.It was kind of funny coz Mrs Bryce was feeding the eels with

cat food/jelly meat.It was fun when we were drawing the poe at victoria square.I thought the design of the

poe was cool because they used paua shells for the shiny eyes.

My favourite part of the trip was the waka because the boys had less people but still got back to shore

before the girls.I think that the boys won because we are TOUGHER than the girls.the waka looked cool

because it had a statue at the front and a statue at the back.

Something I learnt was that the māori people traded food at victoria square.I even learned that Ō takaro

means avon river and that victoria square used to be a market.hello

The thing I found the most interesting was the carvings on the rocks at margaret mahy because I never

knew that they have a meaning.I even thought that the fact eels only know what gender they are until

they are 10 years old.also I thought that the poes were cool because of their carvings and designs. 

This trip has helped me with my PBL because I learned a few things about margaret mahy and victoria

square.and I learned about maori culture.
